Baseball Playoffs #2 and #3

August 28 and 29, 2021

 

The Chelsea Cardinals had two more playoff games to complete their 2021 season.  

 On Saturday, August 28 the Chelsea Cardinals played a local team. David enjoyed catching with Grant and playing a board game with Maman.  It was a one-sided match and a sad loss for the Cardinals. Samuel could not pitch as he had used his maximum pitches in the previous game.  So, in this game he was catcher for most of game.  He also scored a run. He caught some good hits as fielder.  As usual, the team had a debrief at the end of the game.

 

On Sunday, August 29 Sam was pitching again. The team got off to a slow start against the Patriots but picked up as the game went on, even when it started to rain. Although the game was a close loss, the boys seemed pleased with their “come back”. At the debrief they all indicated they would like to play again next year.

 

Baseball Playoff #1

August 27, 2021

The Chelsea Cardinals are in the playoff games in Val-des-Monts.  It is a one hour drive for Grandpa (today was his 77^th birthday), Barbara and Grant. It is a half hour drive for the Chelsea Bowmans (and Molly).

 On Friday night, as the last place team this season, the Cardinals played the first place team, the Aylmer Bulldogs at the Val-des-Monts Sportium Park.  It was great to have ongoing announcements with players names.  As well the baseball field had a lighted sign with scores.

 Grandpa settled in on his chair and Karine joined him to watch the game. Grant and David and Molly enjoyed throwing/catching a ball.  Samuel did well pitching, batting, running bases and fielding.  Check out the photos and videos to see him in action.

 At the end of the game, the coaches and player received medallions and Sam was given a miniature bat as MVP player his for his team.

 

HOME RUN!

The Chelsea Cardinals season is almost over. In a game before the playoffs the whole family went to watch a game in Chelsea. Karine, David, Grant and Molly had some fun throwing/catching too.  Grandpa watched the game from his chair.  Sam was busy hitting, running bases, pitching and fielding.
