Breakfast at La Valée Restaurant

December 8, 2012

Today we were thinking about Samuel as we checked out a backhoe on our neighbour's lawn. If he were visiting us he would head straight for it.

It was rainy in Ottawabut when we headed up to Chelsea to visit the Chelsea boys, there was a soft snowfall. snowball time!

We admired K&K's new doors and windows.

Little David seemed very cheerful as he finished his breakfast.

Soon we all headed out to the local restaurant for our breakfast. Samuel order chocolat chaud - a BIG favourtite! Boots patiently waited outside where Sam rewarded his wait with some toast.

We hiked home, stopping to admire a freshly made snowman. At the fire hall, a volunteer firefighter opened the door and generously showed us his truck which he was washing after fighting a fire in a cabin at the Spa Nordik.

Back at home, it was Sam's turn to make a snowman, with a little help from his friends. He nibbled on the "nose" while we made some big snowballs. We all admired the finished product. David was comfy in his Maman's sling.

We had a final visit inside before heading home. Sam helped to light the fire, tested Grandpa's gingerbread and worked on a puzzle. Karine opened her birthday gifts. And David treated us to some BIG smiles.

Welcome David brunch

December 1, 2012

It was the day of the Welcome David brunch. Our family gathered at 9 Lambert.

Samuel checked out photos of his visit to the birthing centre in Gatineau to meet David for the first time.

Cousin Gavin joined in the fun, showing off his new teeth.

While adults chatted Sam checked out the crackers and Grandpa's shortbread.

We took a few family photos.

Then Sam made a snowman for his Christmas tree (with a little help!)

He handed out gifts for the little ones (including himself).

After the guests had left, Samuel discovered our wind-up toys. and his Dad read him the first story form his advent "calendar" of books.

Finally David got ready to go home and gave us a final smile.
