More Cottage Time

July 7-10 2018

Summer holidays were here! It was time for enjoying the lake fishing and swimming, playing games together, tubing, canoeing, swimming sliding…  oops the raft and slide disappeared one morning and had to be retrieved by Grandpa and the boys. Another morning we went biking on the new paved trail by Blue Sea Lake. We stopped for lunch and a swim.  When we started back, Grant’s bike had a flat tire so he had to be rescued by Grandpa. The boys pedaled back to Messines with Barbara and waited at the play structure.  When we were all together again we stopped for cool treats then returned to the cottage for stories and games. When it was time for boys to go home, we stopped enroute at Mont Morissette and the boys climbed to the top of the lookout tower.  We also checked out caves at the Kazabazua Creek and some sandhill cranes beside the road. It was a good summer visit with great weather and fun activities.

Strawberries+

We started today picking strawberries at the Richmond Nursery – we went early because it was going to be a very hot day.  The berries were at their peak so we came home with a large supply of fresh strawberries.  We gave some to Jenny Craddock next door – she loves berries! For lunch we made strawberry milkshakes – yum!  After lunch, Grant and David had fun with David’s new search and find book. Before we left to meet Maman, the boys enjoyed the cool water of the sprinkler.
