Easter Family Get Together

The Chelsea Bowmans joined the Nepean Bowmans for a get together on Easter Friday. On Sunday they would be joining their Major grandparents and cousins for a sugar bush dinner.

The afternoon at 9 Lambert started with a family photo then a visit to the dog park with Molly.  Grandpa and Barbara stayed home and prepared the Easter dinner: leek soup, roast beef, ham, scalloped potatoes and Grandpa’s lemon squares.

Soon everyone was back together to celebrate Easter around the dining room table.  The boys enjoyed opening their large chocolate eggs (surprise backpacks were inside).

Funhaven and Dinner Together

The Chelsea Bowmans had a PD Day on April 1.  Maman decided she would take them to Funhaven Amusement Centre near 9 Lambert.  They picked up Grant in the afternoon and had an amazing time. Molly stayed with Grandpa and Barbara and had a good rest.  Papa stopped at IKEA on the way to 9 Lambert to pick up a shelving storage unit (second one) for the boys’ toys. The boys checked out their tablets. Once everyone was together for Grandpa's dinner of stew and muffins, the boys enjoyed describing their exciting activities.

 

Time for Maple Syrup

The sap was running today so Grandpa and Barbara decided to check it out. Papa was busy stoking the fire. The boys were in charge of the sap level so Sam, David and their friend Ross were keeping an eye on it.

 

 

Since it was “spring” the boys asked if they could go for a bike ride.  Out came the bikes for their spring check up.  The bikes need a little attention but Papa fixed them and soon the boys and Molly were off on a ride/run around Pine Loop.  It wasn’t long before they were all back.

 

Molly got busy playing with the zip line rope.  Then she checked out some fresh chicken eggs for Grandpa and Barbara.

Mama gave a demo of her e-Spinner, using some of their rabbit fur.

 

Sam showed us his school photo proofs – he will be moving to Mont Bleu Ecole Secondaire (Grade 7) next September. 

We all enjoyed lunch together.

 

 

Dinner at 9 Lambert

Kirk and family were in town for some shopping so dropped the boys while they went to Ikea.

Later K&K came back and we all had dinner together.

A short but fun visit!

Skiing at MacKenzie King Estate

Karine and the boys met Bill and Grant for a Sunday afternoon of cross-country skiing starting at Mackenzie King Estate.

Everyone took Trail 7 down the hills to the Parkway.  Grant, Karine Samuel and David continued across to the other section of Trail 7, while Bill skied down the Parkway to meet them.

By then, it was time for a snack break - hot chocolate and popcorn brought by Karine.

Grant and Samuel returned by Trail 15 with it's big climb. The others took the gentler but longer way back along the Parkway.

Back at the cars, Bill brought out the cookies and dog & cat treats that Barbara had sent along.  It was a wonderful day to be outdoors.
