Impetigo

May 23 2014

David caught this contagious childhood skin affliction and could not go to daycare.  Kirk stayed home with him a couple of days, then David went to the Major house and on Friday to the Bowman's.

He was really over the major symptoms, so happily played with Uncle Grant.  Grandpa took him for a push trike ride around the neighbourhhood, so Grant could have his breakfast.  We made him a cheese sandwich for lunch then settled him down for dodo.

Mothers' Day at Lac Leamy

May 11, 2014

We  all gathered at Lac Leamy (minus Karine, who had to work) to have brunch at Saint Eloi and to bike and roller blade on the trails around the lake.   Barbara got our name on the list, as there was a long line up. Miraculously, just after the Chelsea crew arrived, our name came up and we got right in.

Sam has pancakes (of course), while the guys went for le Géant!  David shared.

After breakfast, we got suited up for biking.  Sam is really good with this vélo now sans training wheels, but he still needs to pay attention to the right of way of other users.  David was pushed in the chariot by papa on his roller blades.

Sam and David excitedly pointed out a Common Grackle and a Mallard for Grandpa to see.  Sam tried in vain to see the ducks and cormorant  through the binoculars.

After circumnavigating Lac Leamy, we headed up along the Gatineau River as far as the train bridge.  Along this stretch, we saw a Chipmunk and a curious groundhog.  Barbara and Grandpa stopped to look at birds, while Sam zoomed back and forth on the bike path.

We saw a STO bus cross over the train bridge.  There were some nice birds - warblers, sapsuckers, kingbird, cedar waxwing and northern rough-winged swallows.

We stopped along the lake to let David out to have a run around before heading for 9 Lambert.   We had lunch and David and Papa went down for a nap.  Sam discovered the joys of the hose sprayer nozzle.

Maman got off work and came and joined us until David was ready to get up and head over to the other grandparents for pizza.
