Log Splitting

 September 26, 2021

Grandpa & Grant had done a lot of splitting at the cottage, so brought home the splitter in the trailer for Kirk to use at home.

While Kirk and Grandpa  unloaded the splitter, the boys were inside playing with their friend Julien.

Kirk did the heavy work of rolling the splitter up the driveway.  Barbara admired the refurbished shed.

Karine and her friends returned from their run, so it was time for Julien to go home.  Kirk started doing some splitting and Sam took over while David looked on.

It was a lot easier than splitting by hand!

Mer Bleue Hike plus Trampoline & Tumbling

 September 17, 2021

Today was a PD Day at the boys’ school, Ecole du Grand-Boisé.  Grandpa, Barbara and Grant picked up Sam and David at the Mill at 8am (drop off point for Papa who was going to work).

Our morning was a trip to Mer Bleue.  We all made our lunches at 9 Lambert then headed off to the bog… where we spent a pleasant time climbing a tree, spotting a phoebe nest, then hiking and birding the boardwalk. Grandpa called in a Palm Warbler. Sam decided to feed the chickadees – he had 22 “clients”.  The boys spotted a frog in a pond by the trail.

We ate lunch in the picnic area where the boys spotted a log teepee in the forest.  They enjoyed checking it out. Grandpa found a White throated sparrow.  After lunch we hiked some more, including part of the winter ski trail.

Then it was time to drop the boys off at birthday party held at Laws of Motion, a Trampoline and Tumbling Centre near the Canada Science and Technology Museum.  We enjoyed watching some of the action.  Check out the photos and video.
