Piano Day

Saturday November 21, 2015

Maman decided she was ready to bring the old Grant family piano home to Chelsea. It would be a perfect birthday gift for her. The whole family arrived and quickly got to work carrying out the piano and securing it in their trailer. Soon it was at their place and Karine was enjoying playing music at home.

Coughing Sam

Wednesday November 18, 2015

Samuel spent the day with Grandpa and Barbara. Yesterday his school sent him home with possible pink eye (he was rubbing his eyes). At night he coughed a lot - but no pink eye. Maman and Papa decided he needed some rest, so Maman brought him over to 9 Lambert. It was a noisy day there as Francis Fuels was at work installing gas ducts and  pipes. Samuel quickly had a look at the work going on in the basement, then he ran upstairs. He had fun playing with Papa's old space shuttle and then having a game of Curious George. He helped make English Monkey for lunch and went for a short bike ride (he drew "go for a bike ride" out of our activity jar and had to use David's little tricycle) and then he snuggled into a cosy sleeping bag in the TV room to have a long nap - all afternoon!

Visiting the Zoo

Saturday November 14, 2015

Uncle Grant was "zoositting" for Christiaan, Annie and Loic while they were on vacation. The Chelsea boys came to visit the zoo. They really like the colourful fish.

Samuel helped make some Rudolf peanut butter cookies for supper. Kirk checked out Grant's Great Gray owl puzzle - he and Karine later added some pieces.

After supper the boys enjoyed some games and watched "Frozen". It was a good time together.

Time with David

Wednesday November 11, 2015

David's daycare was closed on Remembrance Day but Samuel was back at school. We had a good play day with a smiling David - puzzles were popular. Uncle Rick joined us for dinner.

Trains and Play

Monday November 9, 2015

It was another day off school for Samuel (teacher's strike). Barbara met Maman and the boys at Bridgehead beside MEC where Sam and David were enjoying chocolate croissants with cups of hot chocolate. Soon they were on their way with Barbara to the Fallowfield Via train station.  When they parked they saw the Toronto train coming.  Exciting!

After the passengers boarded, the train headed towards Greenbank Rd., so we went in to check out the train station. Sam soon spotted another Via train coming from the opposite direction. We had about 20 minutes to look at this train before it headed towards Woodroffe Ave.

Then we were off to 9 Lambert for a day of playing games. The boys enjoyed grilling their own sandwiches for lunch. In the afternoon, Sam discovered a space shuttle with rockets and a fuel tank that could eject. Grandpa showed him videos of real space ship takeoffs on the computer - Sam loved this and excitedly explained what was happening to David (while he munched on some popcorn).
