Dinner in Chelsea

August 31, 2018

On their way to the cottage, Grandpa, Barbara and Grant stopped for a visit with the Chelsea Bowmans.  David and Grant played outside and Sam was busy upstairs building a fort in their bedroom. Karine offered the adults a glass of wine.  She made some fresh hamburgers and Grandpa barbequed them. When Papa got home we all enjoyed dinner on the deck together.  We saw the boys had new backpacks – time for both of them to start school in Chelsea at École du Grand-Boisé, David in his first year and Sam in Grade 3.

Grandpa’s Birthday Outing

August 27, 2018

Uncle Craig and Aunt Pamela arrived at 9 Lambert for a visit on Sunday, August 26. The next morning on Grandpa’s birthday Maman dropped Samuel and David off for the day.  We had a good time together at the Rockcliffe Airport near the Aviation Museum.  Grandpa and Pamela enjoyed birding and the boys got excited to see the aircraft passing just overhead to land on the runway near us.

Back at 9 Lambert we had lunch on the deck, then the boys made birthday cards for Grandpa. Jenny Craddock came over to show the boys her photo album of her son, Andrew’s time marching in the Changing of the Guard parade. The boys really enjoyed this as they remembered their recent visit to Parliament Hill to see the Changing of the Guard.

We had a family dinner for Grandpa.  The boys worked hard at wrapping up coins to hide in his Dairy Queen log cake. After dinner Maman played “Happy Birthday” on our small keyboard, followed by David’s favourite game Prince Caspian.  It was a good ending to a fun day.

Back at the Lake

Sunday & Monday, August 19-20, 2018

On Sunday Maman and Papa brought the boys up to cottage.  They had to work on Monday so the boys and Boots stayed over on Monday with Grandpa, Barbara and Grant. We had Fun!  Maman’s new “birthday” paddleboard and the boys’ orca and dolphin kept them busy. Papa took the solo canoe out for some fishing. A perfect summer day.
