COVID 19 Starts

March 8, 2020

After the March Break, the COVID-19 Virus restrictions started to be put in place across Canada.  We were happy to have enjoyed time with the boys pre-virus but suddenly everything changed.  School closed, children stayed home.  The Chelsea Bowmans and the Nepean Bowmans started with 2 week home self-isolation. Papa worked from home and Maman was on leave as her physio clinics were closed.

Our last family visit before late May was at 47 chemin de la rivière where the boys were enjoying a campfire in the snow. It was their last time for maple sap collection.  We were all looking forward to the spring sunshine.

A Busy Day

March 5, 2020

The boys spent this March Break day at 9 Lambert. After picking them up from Papa at the Mill, the boys started to count the buses stuck in the other lane due to a 4 car accident/emergency vehicles. Once off the parkway they added school buses.  They got to 99 buses by the time we arrived!

They were happy to see Boots as he had been staying here for several days.

Then they played with Grant – WW I video game and Lego.

Grandpa showed Sam some WWI artifacts belonging to Gilbert Bowes, cousin Bruce’s grandfather (killed at Passendale).

Before lunch the boys and Grant went outside, playing Travel Bingo with Grant.

The boys made lunch, with a little help from Grandpa.

In the afternoon we had an excellent personalized tour of the Ottawa International Airport Emergency Responses Services fire station on Alert Rd. Thank you Shane!

A real highlight was a firetruck water demo.  Check out the video:

To end our tour, Shane showed us the workout room, the kitchen and shared bedroom (24 hour shifts). Thanks for a super tour…
