It was a PD Day today.
Grandpa picked up the boys at Maman’s clinic. Soon they were in their basement playroom at
9 Lambert. Before lunch Barbara, Grant
and the boys visited an old farm site in Arlington Woods. Barbara rode her bike, the boys zoomed off on
their scooters and Grant jogged behind. It
was about a 2km trip. The boys explored
the stone structure of the foundation of the 1861 farmhouse and the ravine
behind it. On the way back, David was tired so Grant balanced him on his
shoulders and carried his scooter. When
we returned home, we enjoyed Grandpa’s BBQ hot dogs and chocolate milk.
At 3pm when the boys were ready to go home, David, Grant and
Barbara were waiting on the front porch.
Barbara and Grandpa would drop the boys at home on their way to the
cottage. David was impressed with a
heavy wind that was blowing down the street.
He asked Barbara to take a photo and then a video of it. Note that just an hour later a tornado
touched down in Arlington Woods felling large pine trees and causing major
damage to many homes, just a few streets away – it was very close to our route
to the old farmhouse. On Lambert Dr. there was no major destruction but the power
was out from 4:10pm Friday to 8am Tuesday.
