Railway Museum Smith's Falls

Friday, July 25, 2014

Lucky us - the day care was closed again. The boys seemed fine when we rendezvoused with Papa to pick them up - they hadn't been feeling well the last few days. Grandpa and Sam soon got to work testing out the new tire swing Grandpa had just made for him. David checked out our canoe paddles and the backyard pond. He tried out the swing too but not as enthusiastically as his brother.

After a pleasant drive to Smith's Falls we arrived at the Railway Museum. What a good way to spend a morning! We all enjoyed exploring the old railway cars  and cabooses. We had a picnic at the museum an tried out the handcar ride - we even spotted an osprey looking down at us.

David played with his new train in the car with Barbara while the others checked out the engine.

Finally it was time to head back to Ottawa. David had a long nap. Samuel worked on a train puzzle with Uncle Grant and had an ice cream cone with Grandpa and played with some cars. He relaxed near the pond and had a story and a good rest before heading home.
