The fresh snow in the Gatineau Hills motivated us to get out
for a good cross-country ski. Kirk suggested a start at P10 near Camp
Fortune and a ski up the parkway to
Keogan's Lodge for lunch. Grandpa, Barbara and Grant parked at P9 at 10:30am and skied up the hill to meet Kirk,
Karine and boys who were lucky to find a parking spot at P10. Karine was busy
setting up the chariot for David when we arrived.
We were soon all skiing up the parkway to Keogan's. David skied for a bit and then hopped in the
chariot. Sam skied a long way and then held on to the back of the chariot for
awhile. Papa got so hot pulling the chariot he took off his mitts.
About an hour later, the skiers arrived at the turnoff for
Keogan's.
Luckily we found a table in the busy cabin for our lunch
together. After lunch, David climbed up the hill beside the cabin and had a
good slide down.
Grandpa and Barbara skied back down the parkway with Sam who
loves downhills.
Once everyone was back at P10, Papa decided he and Sam would
ski down Trail 32 to P9 with Grandpa, Barbara and Grant. Maman would drive down
with David and meet them there.
Check out the video of Sam's amazing trip down the final icy hill...
Soon we were on the trail back to our cars.
