We had planned a fun New Years Eve with the Chelsea boys.
While Maman was working at the hospital, the boys tried out their new hockey
sticks at the Farm Point outdoor rink. It was VERY cold! Boots started to
shiver and Grandpa popped him in the car to warm him up with the heater on. The
skaters, however, were speeding around the rink having too much fun to feel the
cold.
Back home Papa started a fire and Grandpa prepared hot chocolate
for everyone. Papa cooked tray of hors d'oeuvres which were very popular. When Maman came home, David opened a crystal mining excavation
kit, a gift from Aunt Wanda. He loved hammering away to discover several beautiful
crystals.
Barbara and Grandpa set up a raclette for dinner. Yum! Then
the boys tried on some New Years hats, David dug for more crystals and Sam opened
his gift – a spirograph. Soon he and Maman were making beautiful patterns.
The evening ended with glockenspiel candles. Happy New Year
to all!
