The Bowman boys arrived at Grand Lac des Cèdres Saturday
morning for the annual horseshoe tournament.
The boys played some games and then helped Grandpa make his special
chocolate ice cream. After lunch
everyone one headed over to the Tims beach, paddling and swimming. Stephanie
and Bruce had arrived by car. The boys got right into a lively game of
volleyball with Maman and Papa. They looked through the horseshoes history album
prepared by Nadine. Soon the game was underway. Sam threw a few shoes and Terry
said he was good enough to play with the adults. Sam declined but enjoyed helping Grant keep
score and measure the close shoes. This year Aunt Wanda was a runner up - her
first win. As usual everyone enjoyed the picnic dinner featuring Grandpa’s
large barbequed lake trout. Mimi surprised
Grandpa with a 75th birthday cake.
Of course, the boys and the Brownlee girls enjoyed Colleen’s famous pizza
cookie. The evening ended with sparklers.
The boys and their parents slept in their tent
overnight. The next morning, they
checked out their ice cream with Grandpa and at lunch enjoyed their cones.
Before leaving for home they swam in the waves with Grant and had fun trying
out Barbara’s birthday hammock.
