Grandpa, Barbara and Grant dropped in to visit the boys on
their way to the cottage. Karine was watering her plants and the boys were
playing outside, as usual. Grandpa had decided to replace the old battery in
Sam’s John Deere tractor, so Papa removed it and gave it to Grandpa so he could
find another one the same… Meanwhile
Maman brought out some treats for the chickens – Boots decided to try it
too. Then she and the boys continued their
game of Monopoly on the deck. Papa mentioned the bird’s nest in the shed… He showed some photos he had taken of the baby
birds in the nest. They had fledged but
Mama bird – an Eastern Phoebe - was still around and darted away quickly when we
approached the nest. Just as Grandpa was
leaving the two Dads kicked off Father’s Day weekend with some Dad’s cookies.
