July 6
The Chelsea Cardinals-A Team is back in action this year
after no games in 2020. Kirk is a coach and Samuel is playing. This year the
team will play without a pitching machine and Sam will have a chance to pitch
as well as hit. June 17 was the first
game – no visitors as COVID rules were in place until July 6. So, on July 6
Grandpa, Barbara and Grant drove down from the cottage (2.5 hours) to a game in
Parc Gilles Maisonneuve in Gatineau. This is the park with water activities and
a bicycle track, so David and Grant were busy playing in the water and watching
the bikers. Sam was a very good pitcher.
The local team, Express Deux Rives, was excellent and won the game.
July 7
The next night Kirk was filling in for a coach of the
Chelsea B league team. The game was in Aylmer near where cousin Valarie and family
live (Valarie came by walking her dog, Philip).
Since Sam’s team was not playing, he enjoyed activities with David and
Grant. Lots of action!
