Uncle Craig and Aunt Pamela arrived in Ottawa for a 10 day vacation. To celebrate their 25th wedding
anniversary, the Bowman family gathered at the Billings Estate National
Historic Site in Ottawa at Billings Bridge. We set up on 2 picnic tables where we
looked through an old Bowman family album. The boys toured the site and soon
discovered how to enjoy themselves, learning some history of the farm and then climbing
a tree. Then we enjoyed a special boxed lunch “Takeaway tea”: finger sandwiches,
a scone and desserts with tea (lemonade for Sam and David). After “tea” we toured the Billings cemetery,
Grandpa explaining that Bowman relatives were also buried there. On the way back
Pamela found a Billings family memory dome. When we returned to our picnic tales, Craig
and Pamela opened an anniversary gift… and the boys and Grant had a fun game of
badminton.
