Christmas Family Brunch

Papa, the boys and Boots arrived at 9 Lambert Dr. for a Christmas family brunch - Maman was at work this Sunday morning. Unfortunately Sam and David's cousin, Gavin, was sick with the croup and could not come either.

The boys posed for a Grant family photo and then played trains with Grant.

They also enjoyed snacking.

Then a little quiet time watching Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer.

Some gifts from Aunt Wanda were popular.

 

Then back to the train with Uncle Craig.

It was time to take Boots for a walk and try some sliding with "Rudolph".

Our final activity was to set up a "magic" growing Christmas tree. 

When the boys were leaving, David, as usual, said "bye Barbara", and for the very first time, "bye Grant"!

Grandparents Day

Just like last year on Grandparents Day at Samuel's school, there was a lot of fresh snow and the driving was very slow - but we got there!

We had fun playing with Sam and his friend, Stella...  we worked on a craft, then practiced some fine motor skills, rolled out some play dough, checked out our summer trip to Iles de la Madeleine on a map,  then built a large tower with lego bricks. Lots of activity in our 45 minute visit!

Birthday and Christmas Spirit

Maman's birthday was on Thursday night. She and Papa planned a cross country ski outing, P10 to Huron Lodge, to enjoy the fresh snow on the parkway and on Ridge Road. Grandpa, Barbara and Grant arrived  to stay with the boys... the house looked festive. Rudolph (Samuel) was skiing in the forest and Boots was resting in the snow.

Soon it was time to go inside. Sam showed us the train around their Christmas tree while David played with his train with Grant.

Sam showed us his advent calendar and Grant checked out Kirk's calendar.

After supper, Sam and Grandpa made chocolate gluten-free cupcakes for Maman.

As soon as Maman came home, she opened her gifts and we all enjoyed the cupcakes.

Sam chose Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer for a story and Grandpa read it to him by the light of his headlamp and Maman's new candles.

Soon it was time to say goodbye to the boys and their colourful tree.
