It was the boys’ last vacation day before school started.
Grandpa decided it would be a good day for birding. David started the day with
making a birthday card for Grant while Sam and Grant played a game on the computer
downstairs.
Then Grandpa decided it was time for a birding trip. No luck spotting the partridges in Kanata but
David enjoyed sliding – very muddy!
We had better luck with the snowy owls. And we saw a few crows.
We all enjoyed lunch at Tim Hortons.
Then our final birding stop was at Hampton Park on Island Park Drive in
Ottawa. It was fun to hike the trails –
not too many birds, just a few starlings and chickadees.
On the way home, we
stopped at cousin Bruce’s house. The
boys loved working to divert the water in a large puddle at the bottom of the
driveway.
