Easter and Canada Day

July 1, 2020

Because of the COVID-19 Corona virus, we had missed our Easter celebration as a family.  Now it was Canada Day – a beautiful sunny day - and we decided to start our day together with an Easter celebration. The Bowman boys arrived at Grandpa’s cottage on Grand lac des cédres.  They worked on some Easter decorations and then Mama and Papa hid some Easter goodies for them to find.  Sam and Maman in the back yard and Papa and David in the front yard had their Easter treasure hunts.  Everyone got into the search.  A favourite find was a dinosaur to grow.  Then it was time to celebrate Canada Day.  Swimming was very popular – both boys jumped off the deep end of the raft and swam around it to climb back up and jump again.  They had fun playing with their inflatables.  Nine newborn baby mallards swam by with their mother.  Maman and Papa enjoyed a canoe paddle.  David had fun on a ride over the waves behind the boat. Then Grandpa barbequed one of his lake trout and we had dinner together.  Strawberry shortcake was popular.  It was good to be together at the lake again.
