A Fishing Expedition

Craig and Bill were at home wondering what to do with the morning when they got a phone call from Samuel.  "Est-ce qu'on peut aller à la pêche?"

After some heavy thinking, they decided to meet at Brewer Park at about 10 am. 

David was sleepy, so he and Karine stayed by the car while Sam, Papa, Craig and Bill headed for the river nearby.  The first spot was unproductive, so they moved to the public dock that Craig discovered.  Here the water was much deeper and 4" perch were in abundance.  Bill caught several, while Sam reeled in the last few.  He would put them in his net and let them go.  He even held one briefly.  It was a success!

 

By then it was lunchtime, so they spread a blanket and had a snack while watching some people practicing softball - a precursor of the evening's fun to come.
