Barbara thought it would be a fun family trip to explore the
Rideau Canal - on a houseboat rented from Rideau Lake

Here we are embarking on our week long adventure. It didn't
take us long to move in.
Papa was our driver - Captain Kirk.
It was a busy week of boating, going through locks,
swimming, fishing, geocaching, discovering nature, playing games, hiking,
enjoying ice cream, canoeing and kayaking, playing, picnics, music, sparklers,
visiting a marina for gas, stopping at Westport for lunch... a beautiful
sunrise on our last morning at Colonel By Island... and back to Portland where
Sam helped us pack up.
