Uncle Craig and Aunt Pamela arrived at 9 Lambert for a visit
on Sunday, August 26. The next morning on Grandpa’s birthday Maman dropped
Samuel and David off for the day. We had
a good time together at the Rockcliffe Airport near the Aviation Museum. Grandpa and Pamela enjoyed birding and the
boys got excited to see the aircraft passing just overhead to land on the runway
near us.
Back at 9 Lambert we had lunch on the deck, then the boys
made birthday cards for Grandpa. Jenny Craddock came over to show the boys her
photo album of her son, Andrew’s time marching in the Changing of the Guard
parade. The boys really enjoyed this as they remembered their recent visit to
Parliament Hill to see the Changing of the Guard.
We had a family dinner for Grandpa. The boys worked hard at wrapping up coins to
hide in his Dairy Queen log cake. After dinner Maman played “Happy Birthday” on
our small keyboard, followed by David’s favourite game Prince Caspian. It was a good ending to
a fun day.
